Take hold of the thought
Prevalent
Options about which way to think
Flippant
Is all as it seems?
For the source unsteady
Is all as is displayed?
For the actions say maybe
Uncertainty of another choice
Makes the wine taste sweeter
Unknown to me the voice
As it sounds different than I remember
Dead soldiers scattered about
A room filled with all that is
Not really wanted, no way out
Inevitability speaks confrontation
Seek inside for a truth undesired
The altercation in me
Dreamed compendious
Yet more is required
So sit and drink and drink and sing
Of times so long ago
Speak forth of memories
As better than they were
Nostalgia springs forth
Yet undue it proves be
Nostalgia for what
Never once was me
So I sit and think
And listen to those
Over police scanner waves
Be it known once more to me

There will always be struggles, concerns, and complications caused by life and all of its happenings and I know that there will always be those who have it better than I and those who have it worse. Recognizing the importance of perspective is key to understanding our place in our situations and in making decisions that will alter, be it great or small, our circumstances and our lives.
Look upon her and see me
For she is mine and we are one
The reflections viewed simply
As ownership understood
Not taken, nay, freely given
Stolen if by a look took her soul
Kept it wrapped tight forevermore
Her heart moves to the beat of my heart song’s drum
Her eyes flutter to the movement of my caressing tongue
I for her and she for me
Take rhythm that sings in perfect harmony
Nature’s music sits poised on her lips
She sings a song like no other
One never heard by mortal ears before
Fade past the deep of space and time
“When will I see you again?” A single tear fell from her eye as she asked the question she never wanted to ask.
“Give me a week. Just a week darling, although I fear it will be an eternity…” His voice hung in the air as he spoke those words.
“A week? Must it be so long? My loins long for you to fill them with your love yet again before you depart.” Desperate to not let her lover go, she threw herself at him in hopes that he will change his mind.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “How I long to bed you once more before I return, but we mustn’t make this hard than it need be.”
“But I love you…”
“Next Tuesday sennight, look towards the horizon and await my return.”
“Next Tuesday sennight…” she muttered under her breath as she watched him leave, wondering if she would ever see him again. “Next Tuesday sennight…”
